Capsicum annuum (Chili) Anaheim

Capsicum annuum (Chili) Anaheim

Famous and proven pepperoni.

Named after the southern Californian city of Anaheim, this traditional variety, which remains compact with a height of around 60 cm, is also ideal for pots outdoors.

The approximately 15 cm long fruits turn from green to red and become spicier as they ripen.

The green fruits can be used for all sorts of things, for grilling, stuffing, in salads or as a snack.

The ripe red fruits are also suitable for drying.

Peppers need warmth. Best location: full sun facing south or in a foil greenhouse.

Always keep evenly moist, but not too wet. Fertilize regularly and use humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil.

Sowing takes place from the beginning of January to the beginning of March at 20-25 ° C with warm pre-culture indoors. Plant in the greenhouse or outdoors from mid-May at a distance of 50 x 50 cm. Depending on the cultivation method, the harvest takes place from the end of June.

Peppers are sensitive to frost.

Height in the open ground about 60 cm, in the greenhouse up to 140 cm.
