Cucurbita maxima Miss Sophie Pink

Cucurbita maxima Miss Sophie Pink

Not salmon, not pink.

Very beautiful variety with a diameter of 10-12 cm and fruits between 400 and 600 g, very nicely proportioned, flat-round, nicely ribbed and crowned by an ornamental long stem.

Miss Sophie Pink has very tasty but thin flesh and is very suitable for microwave preparation.

The variety grows very delicate and compact for a giant pumpkin. The yield per plant is around 3-5 fruits.

A visual striking feature is the yellow leaves that often occur; this is genetically determined and already makes the plant attractive.

Ripening time: 90 days.

Miss Sophie Pink is quite robust and lasts well.

This variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.

Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Miss Sophie Pink we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.
