Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Indigo Rose
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Indigo Rose
Dark purple tomato, high anthocyanin content.
Indigo Rose produces medium-sized fruits that turn purple to black on the side facing the sun. On the side facing away from the sun, the fruits turn from green to red as they ripen. As with all dark tomato varieties, the dark color is caused by anthocyanin, a substance that is considered to be beneficial to health. Indigo Rose is certainly an interesting addition to the tomato range.
Sow at 20-25° C from February to the end of March, then pre-cultivate from February to April, plant outdoors after the last frost. The harvest takes place from the end of July to September.
Tomatoes love sunny and wind-protected locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich and nutrient-rich.
Tomato plants have high water needs. Never water the plants with tap-cold water. The water should at least be at room temperature. Always ensure that the leaves remain dry so that tomato rot has less chance.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
