Cucurbita moschata Blanc du Maroc
Large, pointed nutmeg pumpkin, excellent for use in the kitchen.
A striking Moroccan land variety with pointed fruits weighing up to 18 kg. Blanc du Maroc has thick and excellent flesh, an excellent pumpkin.
As its African origin suggests, it requires a lot of warmth and is therefore not suitable for cool regions or only with special cultural measures. Very vigorous variety.
Ripening time: 125 days.
Blanc du Maroc vines strongly.
Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.
Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.
For Blanc du Maroc we recommend around 3-4 square meters per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
