Cucurbita maxima Speckled Hound F1
Colorful and delicious.
Speckled Hound F1 produces striking salmon pink fruits with blue-gray stripes. The fruits are rounded to slightly angular and nicely ribbed. As it matures, the blue stripes diminish.
At around 1.5 – 2.5 kg, the fruits are quite handy and suitable for the kitchen.
The plants bear 4-5 fruits with a compact growth with short tendrils and provide a very good harvest.
Speckled Houns F1 is an excellent for cooking.
Speckled Houns F1 grows compact with short vines.
Cucurbiuta maxima are usually robust and make excellent food. Variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.
For Speckled Houns F1 we recommend 2 square meters per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
