Cucurbita maxima Ute Indian
Large, gray-blue Turkish Turban.
Ute Indian is an American Indian tribe, this variety has been cultivated by this tribe for a long time. The fruits are similar in size and shape to the Turkish Turban variety with a diameter of about 20-25 cm. The gray-colored fruits are very attractive, and the flesh, like the other Turkish Turbans, is a discovery in the kitchen.

Ute Indian vines normally strong.
Cucurbiuta maxima are usually robust and make excellent food. Variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.
For Ute Indian we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
