Cucurbita maxima Zora F1
High-yielding, uniform and resilient Hokkaido.
Zora F1 grows in a compact bush shape and bears around 3-4 rounded red fruits weighing around 1.5 kg. The compact growth enables an excellent harvest with a recommended planting density of around 8,000 to 10,000 plants per hectare.
The beautifully proportioned fruits have excellent flesh, the skin cooks softly in typical Hokkaido style, i.e. the fruits do not need to be peeled. Zora F1 is approved for professional cultivation.
Ripening time: 90 days.
Zora F1 vines compactly.
Cucurbiuta maxima are usually robust and make excellent food. Variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.
Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.
Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.
For Zora F1 we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
