Raphanus sativus (Rettich/Daikon) Karmina

Raphanus sativus (Rettich/Daikon) Karmina

Purple radish specialty.

Half-long, approximately 15-20 cm long, intensely colored radish. Almost forgotten, the colored radish varieties are enjoying increasing popularity again. Karmina is a good representative with tender, white flesh and a development time of only 75 days from seed to harvest. Since carmina also thrives in summer with sufficient irrigation, it is ideal for subsequent crops.

Sowing: February/March under glass or March to July outdoors, distance between rows 25 cm, in rows 20 cm. The harvest takes place from April to October, depending on the sowing date.

Radishes should always be well watered and not harvested overripe and should never be left dry as this leads to spiciness and woodiness.
