Mailänder is a fast-growing, flat-round turnip with purple shoulders.

Lovers harvest the turnips as young as possible and use them both raw and cooked. The fine, white flesh is flavorful and slightly spicy. Mailänder is suitable for year-round cultivation from spring to autumn and will almost certainly produce turnips during the summer months. The turnips are harvested when they are about 10 cm in size.

Sowing takes place in April/August as direct sowing in rows, distance 30-35 cm, in the row 10-15 cm. The harvest takes place from the beginning of June to October about 6 weeks after sowing.
