Cymbopogon citratus (Lemon Grass)

Fresh or dried stalks are used to flavour soups, salads and curries.

Easy to grow lemon flavored grass. Popular fresh or dried as a seasoning in salads, soups, curries and drinks. The plants should be frost-free overwintered and perennial and can be harvested continuously in the winter garden. Perennial only if wintered frost-free.

Sowing with pre-culture in the greenhouse or direct sowing outdoors from February to August, planting at a distance of 15 x 30 cm.

Erratic germinator. Sow 10-20 seeds per pot. Lemongrass often germinates slowly and may only germinate at around 50%. Sowing should always be kept moist.

Height: 70 cm.

 

Supplied as raw (normal) seed in grams.
Approximately 2.000 seeds per gram.
