Rumex sanguineus (Bloody dock)

Rumex sanguineus (Bloody dock)

Bloody dock or Red-veined sorrel is a clump-forming herb. It has a rosette growth pattern, with leaves emerging from a central point close to the ground.

The most distinctive feature of Rumex sanguineus is its striking leaves. The foliage is smooth and glossy, making the plant visually appealing in gardens.

The plant itself does not have a particularly strong aroma. The leaves have a mild scent when crushed. The leaves of red-veined sorrel have a tangy, lemony flavor, similar to other sorrel varieties, with a slightly acidic and refreshing taste. The younger leaves are more tender and less bitter than the mature ones.

Height: 20 cm.
