Centaurea moschata (imperialis) Alba

Centaurea moschata (imperialis) Alba

This generous imperial cornflower is a beautiful annual plant. The flower resembles a normal cornflower, but has a wonderfully sweet scent. This sweet scent is extremely attractive to butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects.

Part of the same Centaurea family as cornflowers, they’re like creamy white cornflowers on steroids, bigger flowers, much stronger less tangly stems, even more pronounced pineapple-esque markings on the buds.

Lasts amazing well in the vase, with a soft sweet scent. It’s only shortcomings are it really does not appreciate wet feet, or too much warm rain for too long – but in normal not depressing early summer weather it’s an absolute gem!
