Carthamus tinctorius QIS® White Grenade

Carthamus tinctorius QIS® White Grenade

Carthamus White Grenade has thistle-like flowers with a unique light vanilla colour and fresh green leaves.

In terms of plant structure and stem length, this variety resembles Carthamus Zanzibar, but White Grenade can be harvested about a week earlier.

Sow indoors in a greenhouse or directly outdoors, preferably under a tunnel.

Sow this Carthamus from late winter to late summer, for a harvest period from early summer to mid-autumn.

The large buds of Carthamus White Grenade are supported by very strong stems, which also prove their strength during transport, processing and in the vase.

This versatile Carthamus is suitable for fresh and dried bouquets, and can also be harvested green at an earlier stage.
