Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Brutus

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Brutus

Attractive, very large beef tomato.

With its huge fruits, which can weigh up to 1 kg in good conditions, Brutus is a real attraction.

The fruits are flat-round, dark red with delicate stripes and clearly ribbed.

Like all large beef tomatoes, Brutus thrives best in protected cultivation. In warm locations and provided with a roof, Brutus also grows outdoors.

Sow at 20-25° C from February to the end of March, then pre-cultivate from February to April, plant outdoors after the last frost. The harvest takes place from the end of July to September.

Tomatoes love sunny and wind-protected locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich and nutrient-rich.

Tomato plants have high water needs. Never water the plants with tap-cold water. The water should at least be at room temperature. Always ensure that the leaves remain dry so that tomato rot has less chance.
