Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Homestead

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Homestead

Robust, large beef tomato.

A very robust beef tomato from the USA. Actually bred for very hot areas, this variety also produces tasty, red, slightly ribbed fruits in the Central European climate, weighing from approx. 250 to 1,000 grams, robust growth outdoors.

Also suitable for the greenhouse and protected culture.

Sow at 20-25° C from February to the end of March, then pre-cultivate from February to April, plant outdoors after the last frost. The harvest takes place from the end of July to September.

Tomatoes love sunny and wind-protected locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich and nutrient-rich.

Tomato plants have high water needs. Never water the plants with tap-cold water. The water should at least be at room temperature. Always ensure that the leaves remain dry so that tomato rot has less chance.
