Citrullus lanatus (Watermelon) Thora

Citrullus lanatus (Watermelon) Thora

Extra early watermelon, sweet as sugar.

Thora is the earliest watermelon in the Sugar Baby type, even a few days earlier than Blacktail Mountain.

What is particularly striking is the high sugar content, which makes this variety with Siberian roots also recommended for cultivation in Central Europe.

A real recommendation for anyone who wants to try their hand at the heat-loving culture.

The fruits weigh between 2-4 kg, usually around 3 kg.

The harvest success and the sugar content of the fruits depend on warmth and sun. Melons need a warm location.

Melons grow moderately and require around 1-2 square meters per plant.

Melons enjoy a mulching film.

In a nice and warm summer, the pulp contains more sugar than in a cold summer.

The seeds are sown indoors from the beginning of April at 24-28 ° C directly with 1-2 seeds in the small pot (do not keep the pots too moist) or from mid-May outdoors in a warm location.

Possible pests: lice, mice, powdery mildew, mildew, viral diseases.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
