Asparagus falcatus is a vigorous, subtropical foliage plant.

This robust evergreen has attractive, long sickle-shaped leaves and woody stems with thorns. The leaves are shiny, dark green and broader than other asparagus.

It can be used as a texture-adding pot plant for shady to semi-shady areas indoors and for cut foliage production.

A. falcatus is native to subtropical parts of South Africa and Mozambique, where it grows as an climbing shrub in shady spots and forests.

It is commonly known as Large forest asparagus or Sicklethorn.

Asparagus falcatus seed is available from December to April and from June to August.

 

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
