Atriplex hortensis Green Plume

Long upright stems with a 30-40 cm long plume. Cut when in full bloom when used as filler in bouquets. Useful as annual hedge.

Atriplex thrives in full sun and well-drained soils but adapts to various soil types, including alkaline and saline environments. It tolerates drought and a range of climates, making it a versatile addition to gardens.

It is often grown as a warm-weather substitute for spinach. Its leaves are edible, with a mild flavor resembling spinach, and are used in soups, salads, or as cooked greens. Young plants are tender and preferred for consumption​.
