Beaucarnea (Nolina) recurvata
Beaucarnea (Nolina) recurvata
Beaucarnea recurvata, also called Nolina recurvata, often gets mistaken for a palm, but actually is a semi succulent.
This unique looking tree-like perennial has a large swollen trunk, which stores water. The dark green leaves are long and thin and emerge from the trunk like a fountain.
Beaucarnea recurvata is native to arid-tropical parts of Mexico where it grows in mountain forests and on rocky cliffs. Beaucarnea recurvata is a well-known robust, sun-loving houseplant. In mild to warmer climates it can be used as a waterwise patio plant or for landscaping. Outdoors it can grow to a full-size tree.
Beaucarnea recurvata is commonly known as Ponytail palm, Bottle palm or Elephant’s foot.
Beaucarnea recurvata starting material is available all year round as seeds.
Supplied as cleaned (normal) seed.
