Capsicum chinense (Chili) Caribbean Antillais

Capsicum chinense (Chili) Caribbean Antillais

Large-fruited red habanero variety.

This red habanero from the Antilles is a variant of the Scotch Bonnet.

The more uniform fruits are larger, with a diameter of around 3 cm and a length of around 4 cm. The fruits are very spicy. Ideal for drying and grinding, the ground variety is not as spicy as fresh.

The plant can be overwintered in a cool, bright place and will then bear fruit much earlier the following year. Good container plant.

Peppers need warmth. Best location: full sun facing south or in a foil greenhouse.

Always keep evenly moist, but not too wet. Fertilize regularly and use humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil.

Sowing takes place from the beginning of January to the beginning of March at 20-25 ° C with warm pre-culture indoors. Plant in the greenhouse or outdoors from mid-May at a distance of 50 x 50 cm. Depending on the cultivation method, the harvest takes place from the end of June.

Peppers are sensitive to frost.

Height about 70 cm outdoors, higher in the greenhouse.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
