Capsicum chinense (Chili) Jamaican Hot Red
Capsicum chinense (Chili) Jamaican Hot Red
Mushroom-shaped, red fruits up to 8 cm.
Spicy but aromatic with a taste reminiscent of lemons and apricots. Good to use in hot sauces and dishes.
The plant is quite compact (60 cm), builds nicely and is productive. With good cultivation, a very reliable harvest.
The plant can be overwintered in a cool, bright place and then bears fruit much earlier. Good container plant.
Capsicum chinense has a very long cultivation period and only thrives reliably in a greenhouse.
Peppers need warmth. Best location: full sun facing south or in a foil greenhouse.
Always keep evenly moist, but not too wet. Fertilize regularly and use humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil.Â
Sowing takes place from the beginning of January to the beginning of March at 20-25 ° C with warm pre-culture indoors. Plant in the greenhouse or outdoors from mid-May at a distance of 50 x 50 cm. Depending on the cultivation method, the harvest takes place from the end of June.
Peppers are sensitive to frost.
Height about 60 cm outdoors, higher in the greenhouse.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
