Citrullus lanatus (Watermelon) Janosik

Citrullus lanatus (Watermelon) Janosik

Sweet, yellow-fleshed watermelon.

Janosik is a highly rated, yellow-fleshed breed of Polish origin.

The dark green fruits are a good size at 4-5 kg, the yellow flesh is sweet and forms an excellent contrast to the well-known pink or red-fleshed varieties such as Sugar Baby.

The harvest success and the sugar content of the fruits depend on warmth and sun. Melons need a warm location.

Melons grow moderately and require around 1-2 square meters per plant.

Melons enjoy a mulching film.

In a nice and warm summer, the pulp contains more sugar than in a cold summer.

The seeds are sown indoors from the beginning of April at 24-28 ° C directly with 1-2 seeds in the small pot (do not keep the pots too moist) or from mid-May outdoors in a warm location.

Possible pests: lice, mice, powdery mildew, mildew, viral diseases.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
