Cucumis melo (Melon) Minnesota Midget

Cucumis melo (Melon) Minnesota Midget

Extra early mini melon with compact growth.

One of the earliest melons ever is this small honeydew melon, introduced in 1948.

The fruits, which are around 10 cm in diameter, are abundantly planted on vines that are a maximum of 90 cm long, making them ideal for containers.

The fruits themselves have thick, golden-orange flesh that can be eaten right down to the peel.

Minnesota Midget is one of the first fusarium-resistant melon varieties, ripening 65 to 75 days after sowing.

Muskmelons have a strong scent when they are ripe.

Minnesota Midget grows compactly and needs about 1 square meter.

Melons enjoy a mulching film.

In a nice and warm summer, the pulp contains more sugar than in a cold summer.

The seeds are sown indoors from the beginning of April at 24-28 ° C directly with 1-2 seeds in the small pot (do not keep the pots too moist) or from mid-May outdoors in a warm location. The harvest takes place in warm locations from mid-July.

Possible pests: lice, mice, powdery mildew.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
