Cucumis sativus (Gherkin) Vorgebirgstraube

Tried and tested variety for salting and pickling cucumbers.

Vorgebirgstraube is one of the best-known pickling cucumbers and has been widely tried and tested in cultivation. Pickling cucumbers need good fertilization and a regular water supply. Sowing under foil or fleece ensures good emergence and protects against bird damage.

Sowing takes place indoors at 22-25 ° C from March to May, followed by pre-cultivation and planting, direct sowing with 2-3 grains possible from the beginning of May. The planting distance is approximately 150 x 30 cm. The harvest takes place continuously from around July to October.

Pickling cucumbers are gratefull to a good and balanced supply of nutrients as well as regular watering in dry times assuring a continuous and rich harvest.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
