Cucurbita maxima Fungo

Very uniform, medium-sized turban selection.

Fungo is a very uniform, medium-sized selection of the bishop’s cap. The fruits stand like mushrooms in the forest when you turn them upside down. With a weight of around 1.5 kg and a diameter of around 15 cm, Fungo is a good size.

The variety is high-yielding and vines moderately strongly. It is largely unknown that bishop’s caps have good meat quality.

Ripening time: 90 days.

Fungo vines normal.

This variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.

Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Fungo we recommend 2 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.

 

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
