Cucurbita maxima Solor BIO

Solor is an improved selection of the well-known Uchiki Kuri variety.

Solor bears slightly better, but above all the fruits, which are otherwise similar to the most famous Hokkaido, can be stored for around 4-6 weeks longer. For this reason, Solor has already replaced the Uchiki Kuri variety among professional growers who store fruit for later sale.

Ripening time: 90 days.

Solor vines moderately.

Cucurbiuta maxima are usually robust and make excellent food.  Variety grows well in warm, well-drained soils.

Pre-cultivation and planting with sowing from the end of April or direct sowing from the beginning of May.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Solor we ​​recommend 2-3 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
