Cucurbita moschata Beja

Cucurbita moschata Beja

Beja is a novelty from the breeder Prof. Berenji and is slightly larger than the Hungarian Butternut Sonca.

The fruits weigh around 2-2.5 kg and turn from dark green to bright ocher.

Beja bears plenty of fruit with excellent, carotene-rich and intensely orange flesh. A new breed with a great future.

Ripening time: 110 days.

Trailing behavior: moderate.

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Beja we recommend around 2-3 square meters of space per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
