Cucurbita moschata Honeynut

Cucurbita moschata Honeynut

Exceptional mini butternut.

Honeynut is a mini butternut of the dark type that turns from green to ocher. The flesh is dark, rich in carotene and has an excellent taste.

The special thing about Honeynut are the small fruits, which are only 500 grams, and are produced in large numbers. Because of the small fruit size, honeynut is also ideal as a raised fence crop.

With a ripening time of around 100 to 110 days, this variety only thrives in Central Europe with pre-cultivation and a warm, sunny place, but then it is very reliable.

Ripening time: 110 days.

Honeynut is trailing moderately.

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Honeynut we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
