Cucurbita moschata Longue de Nice

Slender, long fruits.

Longue de Nice produces green, slender, long fruits that turn ocher when ripe. They are correspondingly elongated butternuts.

The fruit pulp is massive and dark orange, apart from the small seed cavity. Longue de Nice is suitable for practically all kitchen dishes.

Longue de Nice, as the name suggests, comes from France and has become a rarity in seed catalogs.

Ripening time: 120-140 days.

Longue de Nice is vining strong.

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Longue de Nice we ​​recommend 2-4 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
