Cucurbita moschata Mathilda

Cucurbita moschata Mathilda

Very beautiful, large butternut, a feast for the eyes.

Mathilda combines the good properties of various well-known varieties without any of their disadvantages. It bears early and quite abundantly very beautiful, ribbed fruits in a balanced shape and size, weighing approx. 3-5 kg.

For Central Europe, we recommend pre-cultivation for a safe, fully ripe harvest.

Ripening time: 110 days.

Moderate trailing behavior

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the trailing behavior.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
