Cucurbita moschata Musquee du Maroc
Very warmth-requiring variety from Morocco, warped green, variable in shape and color.
The fruits are rounded to oblong, 3-6 kg. They change color from green to terracotta.
Unfortunately, this variety, which comes from North Africa, requires a lot of warmth and, under local climatic conditions, only succeeds with pre-culture and planting on mulch film is also recommended. A very beautiful summer completes the success of the culture.
Ripening time: 140 days.
Moderate vining behavior.
Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.
Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.
The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the vining behavior.
Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
