Cucurbita moschata Walnut F1

Cucurbita moschata Walnut F1

Fairly early butternut with good household size.

A fairly early ripening variety from English breeding. The fruits reach a weight of around 1.6 to 2 kg.

The plants grow moderately. Butternuts need a warm, protected location. We also recommend pre-cultivation and planting for early-ripening varieties and warm locations.

Ripening time: 90 days.

Walnut F1 vines moderately.

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

For Walnut F1 we recommend 1-2 square meters per plant.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.
