Cucurbita moschata Waltham

Cucurbita moschata Waltham

Old, seedless variety with fairly uniform fruits.  Waltham is a well-known variety grown worldwide.

The fruits are around 1.5-2 kg and can be stored for a long time. For Central European conditions we recommend the pre-culture.

Ripening time: 110 days.

Moderate trailing behavior.

Cucurbita moschata require a lot of heat and is therefore better to be pre-cultivated. Varieties with a ripening time of up to 110 days also thrive in cold regions.

Optimum germination at 24-30o C. When sowing stick the pointed side of the seed down or lay them flat. Do not keep the seed too moist. After germination, place in a brighter and cooler place.

The planting distance for pumpkins depends on the trailing behavior.

Possible pests: snails, birds, mice, lice, powdery mildew, virus.

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
