Heat-requiring plant that is otherwise produced like greenhouse cucumbers.

The young fruits can be eaten.

They are a specialty in Asian cuisine.

When fully mature, the well-known sponges, which are around 50 cm long, can be harvested in autumn after the plants have died.

Planting distance in the row 30 cm, between the rows about 120 cm.

Sowing with pre-culture from the end of February. Planting in a greenhouse or outdoors from May.

The plants grow best on a trellis.

 

Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
