Matthiola StoX® is Evanthia’s brand new Matthiola series and a real breakthrough in Matthiola breeding.

This series provides the solution to a challenge faced by breeders, young plant breeders and Matthiola growers. Selection of double-flowered plants at the seedling stage is one of the main goals of our breeding programme. We have succeeded in developing a robust series of Matthiolas with woody stems that are easy to select for double flowers after cold treatment, resulting in an excellent series with 100% double flowers with an outstanding vase life.

With this new series we truly combine the best of both worlds: the robust and durable characteristics of Japanese types and the selectability of European types.

Check out the lively colour spectrum, with various interesting, unique shades. 

Seedlings are easily selected for doubleness after they are exposed to cold temperatures below 8^o C (46°F) with light.  Double flower seedlings will show pale green cotyledons and single flower seedlings will show dark green cotyledons.
