Physalis ixocarpa Amarylla
Physalis ixocarpa Amarylla
A large-fruited yellow tomatillo.
Amarylla is a quite large tomatillo, with fruits up to 5 cm large and weighing 30-40 g.
Tomatillos are undemanding, easy-to-cultivate plants that thrive in almost any soil.
Harvested when not fully ripe, they bring a fresh and hearty taste to chutneys and salsas.Due to the size of the fruit, Amarylla is also suitable as a starter. It’s definitely worth trying out.
The harvest takes place outdoors from the beginning of August, as soon as the actual fruits break through the papery shell.
Sowing takes place from the end of February to the end of March at 20-25 ° C with warm pre-culture indoors.
Tomatillo plants can get quite massive. Pruning once will give you more stable plants.
The planting distance should be 75 x 75 cm. Cultivation in a greenhouse is possible.
Supplied as raw (normal) seed.
