Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Baselbieter Röteli BIO

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Baselbieter Röteli BIO

A Swiss rarity variety, very similar or identical to the Italian variety Grappoli Corbarino.

Very productive on long panicles. The fruits are egg-shaped, weigh between 15 and 40 grams and have a surprisingly good taste with a tomato-like, balanced sweet-sour ratio. It has a firm shell, but tends to burst when there are large differences in humidity.

Sow at 20-25° C from February to the end of March, then pre-cultivate from February to April, plant outdoors after the last frost. The harvest takes place from the end of July to September

Tomatoes love sunny and wind-protected locations. The soil should be loose, humus-rich and nutrient-rich.

Tomato plants have high water needs. Never water the plants with tap-cold water. The water should at least be at room temperature. Always ensure that the leaves remain dry so that tomato rot has less chance.
